Sudden email notifications for new users and password changes

I suddenly started getting new user email notifications and password change emails this past weekend. I have never received them before and it looks like the users and password changes are legit so I am wondering why I am suddenly getting these out of nowhere. When I noticed I was getting them I logged into my admin and it was asking me to verify the admin email, which I did. I’m not sure if that triggered something?? The emails are coming from WordPress:

Subject: [XXXXXXXX] New User Registration
    
New user registration on your site XXXXXXXX:
    
Username: XXXXXXXX
    
Email: XXXXXXXXXXX 

and

Subject: [XXXXXX] Password Changed

Password changed for user: XXXXXX

is there a way to disable them?
