Connecting to VPN from KDE desktop fails, but when using GNOME Desktop it works fine

When I connect to a VPN using openvpn from GNOME it works well, but when I try to do the same using network manager from the KDE plasma desktop, I receive a message connection to x vpn has failed. I don’t know what could be wrong given the fact that on my other desktop (GNOME) it works fine without any problem. I am using Pop! OS.
