Reledmac Sidenote Distance

I had a problem where I needed to scoot my left sidenote over to the right because it was "colliding" or overlapping with my line numbers.

So this is what I did: newdimenledlsnotesepledlsnotesep=-50pt

This worked fine. But I would like to know if there was a more natural or native to Reledmac or XeLaTeX way to do this?

This is not so much a problem to solve, as it is just an apprentice asking how he can improve his craft.
