Preamble performing similar to revtex typesetting

I use python matplotlib package for creation of figures and I can indicate prefferable latex preamble for compilation of text (e.g. axes labels). Although I cannot use revtex class itself (documentclass[aps,prb,twocolumn,amsmath,amssymb]{revtex4-1}) what preamble (I mean set of packages and settings) will create almost the same typesetting? Mostly I’m worried about fonts and symbols.
