moderncv produces output different from template

TeX - LaTeX Asked on August 11, 2020

I am trying to create a CV like http://ctan.mirror.colo-serv.net/macros/latex/contrib/moderncv/examples/template_banking_red.pdf which I found on https://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/moderncv/examples. Note the spacing of the title, the size of the dots, and the height of the vertical line, among other things.

If I use the associated template on this page to try to replicate this look in Overleaf (with Roman, banking, and red changed in the code), then I get this input and output:

Overleaf output

Why are there visual differences between the two? The spacing of the title and the vertical line are different, as are the size of the dots. I was thinking that perhaps the original template was made using an older version of moderncv, so that the output no longer matches the original template. How can I get my new file to look the same, preferably without having the manually load old packages (I’m not sure if this would work)?
