Getting French dictionary in Winedt

TeX - LaTeX Asked by Espen on May 12, 2021

I’m trying to install the French dictionary for my Winedt 10.3. I’ve obviously found and downloaded the file on Winedt.org. I’ve tried to use the macro ‘Installdict’, but quite frankly, I don’t understand how to run it. The page says to ‘copy the script to where your dictionary is’. Exactly what does that entail? I copied all the text in the script, and then I go to the directory where all the dictionaries are…? It’s not even possible to paste anything there. Or should it be pasted somewhere inside Winedt?

I’ve also tried to do in manually on my own, following the info on this thread:
How do I load a new dictionary in WinEdT 9?

I’ve created a folder called ‘French’ inside the folder than contains my dictionaries, and I’ve put the fr.dic file there. I’ve then gone to Winedt and accessed options and the Dictionary Manager, where I’ve put down the code in (what I presume to be) identical syntax with the other dictionaries which are already built-in, like this:

DICTIONARY="French "
FILE="%BDictFrenchfr.dic"
ENABLED=1
MODE_FILTER=""
LOAD_ON_START=1
SAVE_ON_EXIT=1
ADD_NEW_WORDS=0
USE_FOR_COMPLETION=1
ALLOW_COMPOUNDED_WORDS=1

However, I do not find the French dictionary when I go the the ‘Dictionary Manager Dialog’.

Could anyone help me out? Either by explaining what I’m doing wrong in the manual process, or by explaining how and where to run the Installdict macro?
