Geometry package: changing paperwidth and paperheight inside the document

The geometry package documentation (§5.1) says very clearly that options paperwidth and paperheight cannot be changed with newgeometry but only with geometry, which is used in the preamble.

How can I change paperwidth and paperheight inside the document? (for the current or for the next page). I’m using xelatex.
