Generating acronym list in a report

I’m writting currently my thesis report with LaTeX by using TeXmaker version 5 as compiler, I try to add list of abbreviation and acronym but it doesn’t work, my code is:

documentclass{report}
usepackage[utf8]{inputenc}
usepackage[acronym]{glossaries}

makeglossaries

newacronym{gcd}{GCD}{Greatest Common Divisor}

newacronym{lcm}{LCM}{Least Common Multiple}

Given a set of numbers, there are elementary methods to compute 
its acrlong{gcd}, which is abbreviated acrshort{gcd}. This process 
is similar to that used for the acrfull{lcm}.
