I use Overleaf. I am drifting my bibliography with bibtex. This is my code:
usepackage[style=italian]{csquotes}
usepackage[citestyle=philosophy-classic,bibstyle=philosophy-verbose,scauthors=bibcitefn,autocite=footnote,inbeforejournal=true,classical=true,volnumformat=strings,volumeformat=romansc,editionformat=romansc,giveninits=true,sorting=nyvt,loccittracker=context,idemtracker=constrict,singletitle=true,indexing=cite,uniquename=init]{biblatex}
Well, en passant, I know that is better to use only one style (here, it would be philosophy-classic). But I have to respect this option. Anyway, I usually try and train my skills, so if you would like to answer also beyond specific philosophy-verbose and including philosophy-classic or other options, I will be grateful. Infact, I have the following first problem also if I use only style=philosophy-classic.
So, in my .bib file, I have these items:
@book{grossi2013,
bookauthor={Grossi, Paolo},
booktitle={Scritti canonistici},
editor={Fantappiè, Carlo},
publisher={Giuffrè},
address={Milano},
year={2013}
}
@inbook{grossi2013a,
author={Grossi, Paolo},
pages={7--113},
crossref={grossi2013}
}
@article{grossi1958,
author={Grossi, Paolo},
title={emph{Unanimitas}},
journal={Annali di storia del diritto},
volume={2},
year={1958},
pages={229--331},
relatedstring={ora},
related={grossi2013a}
}
In cite
command, I would like to get: Grossi 1958. And actually, I can get what I want. So, no problems.
Problems begin in bibliography. First of all, I receive two warnings:
Secondly, I get this result:
P. Grossi, Unanimitas.
Yes: I have a comma after relatedstring and I want to delete it. The space “belongs” to the title of inbook entry, but I would the omission, because it is the same of the title of the main entry, that is article (Unanimitas. So, I would like to obtain: «… ora in Scritti canonistici, …».
If this solution is impossible, I would something like: «… ora id., in Scritti canonistici, …». I know that I can set this solution manually, by adding title={idadddot} in the @inbook entry; but I am looking for an automatic solution.
However, if the title is not the same, naturally, I would to get something like: «… ora This is the new title of the article, in Scritti canonistici, …», just editing title of the @inbook entry.
Then, I have problems with booktitle and bookauthor: you can see that there are not the author and the title of the @book, but only the editor, which is wrong, and furthermore the label «a cura di» is preceded by a semicolon and not placed between parens or after a simple comma and before the name of editor. So, I would like to obtain:
… vol. ii, 1958, pp. 229-331, ora % here the omission of the same title of the article=inbook or the «Id.» text, but if different title here I have this new title
in
, % here the omission of the same author
Scritti canonistici, a cura di C. Fantappiè % here the editor string and then
Giuffrè, Milano 2013 …
Usually, the author of the book is the same of the author of the article, otherwise we have immediately the editor: «… ora in C. Fantappiè (a cura di), Antologia di testi, Giuffrè …».
Last, but not least is the year of the book. You can see that in my result it doesn’t appear. I obtain the year of the article (and I want that this is the year-label, for the cite
command (Grossi 1958: not Grossi 2013, where 1958 is the year of the article, the second of the reprinted book). Well, I like to get: «… in Scritti canonistici, a cura di C. Fantappiè, Giuffrè, Milano 2013, pp. 7-113».
So, in conclusion, I would to get:
P. Grossi, Unanimitas.
Or, alternatively:
P. Grossi, Unanimitas.
For a bibstyle=philosophy-classic, I would to get:
P. Grossi (1958), Unanimitas.
And I believe that is sufficient to insert author and title in @book entry.
