Mouse and Keyboard no longer working after an RDP session - Windows 10

Seems like there’s sporadic issues throughout the years and multiple versions of Windows that have never been solved. I have a Windows 10 machine that I RDP into. When returning to the physical machine, the mouse and keyboard no longer work to pop up a login screen, the displays stay dark. I can RDP back into it and see that the machine is working, but the local console mouse and keyboard no longer work without a restart.

Any ideas?
