Необходимость в получении контуров букв с помощью SVG кривых, возникает, как правило, при вёрстке логотипа с анимацией, украшения веб странички различными трансформациями текста.

Довольно просто получить кривые с помощью приложения: Google font to SVG path

Выбираем шрифт, размер шрифта, пишем слово, ставим галочку, если нужны патчи для каждой буквы
