Is car racing faster our slower at night in general?

Nowadays, many car races happen at night, for instance Bahrain F1 GP tomorrow, the 29th November. There are several factors that differ in such case, like temperature, light outs for drivers.

In general, is it faster to drive at night or at day?
Is it the same for all driving sports, i.e. F1, Nascar, Indycar and so on?
