Server Fault Asked by OscarCy on December 7, 2021
I have an LDAP server with serveral groups and users.
I setup a fresh machine with Ubuntu 18.04 and installed LDAP client on it.
I am able to fetch the users with getent passwd and also login with a user su – username.
But Im not able to getent group. This is a crucial for my SMB setup.

nss_schema rfc2307bis
in ldap.conf
.rfc2307bis
compatible schema. Also, you really ought to see about encrypting the connection between your client and your server, esp. if you're passing authentication information.
