Does anybody see the green ball in this picture shrinking? I have asked my friends and they have all said yes. I also saw the green ball seemingly decreasing in size when I first saw it. My only guess of how it works is that it resembles our reflex when we look at a very far or very near object and our lens instinctively adjust to make the image sharper, but in this case, it makes us see the ball as shrinking. However, I can’t find any similar illusion on the internet. I would like to ask is there any other illusions like this out there, and if so, what is it called? Also, is my guess about the illusion’s mechanism correct (or at least makes some logical sense)?
P.s: This is a very up-close (and quite random) picture of my friend’s laptop LED.
