Why the majority of the heavy-fermion materials were found in these containing Ce, Yb and U?

Why the majority of the heavy-fermion materials were found in these containing Ce, Yb and U? Does it possible to realize heavy-fermion behavior in $d$-orbit or other $f$-elements?
