Transfer Lengh Method

Based on the transfer length method (TLM). How in practise would you reduce the contact resistance without changing the sheet resistance of the GaAs? Assuming that the contact resistance can be reduced by a factor of ten.

Also when we ncrease the separation between the contacts we should not change the length of the contacts. why is it important for the length of the contacts to remain the same for each simulation of the total resistance?
