The nature of measurement in Quantum Mechanics

I am extremely sorry for my silly question but I am really struggling on the nature of measurement…

If we have a SG experiment which measure spin of an electron in z-direction, but not recording the measurement. Would the eigenstate of this measurement still |+> and |->, with their corresponding eigenvalues +/- hbar/2? What would be the physical interpretation of "measurement" and "record"?
