Quantum information = quantum gravity?

Physics Asked by redhood on November 29, 2020

I have recently listened to a podcast by Sean Carroll and Leonard Susskind (strongly recommended https://www.preposterousuniverse.com/podcast/2019/05/06/episode-45-leonard-susskind-on-quantum-information-quantum-gravity-and-holography/)
on quantum gravity and how quantum information comes into play. Now I’m not an expert on either subject though I have a fairly good understanding of quantum theory and general relativity. I’d like to understand how quantum computing/information is connected to gravity in a more rigorous manner.

So my question really is, what is the specific connection between quantum information and quantum gravity? Can you also include sources?

Well I hope you are expecting a non-technical answer. I also do not know the technical answer. The idea is that Ads-CFT corodponds to certain conformal field theorys as a duel if one more dimensional Anti desitter space. Now how the extra dimension comes that suggest that it has to do something with entanglement network which supplies the extra dimension. I got this from SUBIR SACHDEV'S TALK ON PERIMETER INSTITUTE OR IISER PUNE Both are available in youtube iiser one is more compact I guess.
