Motion of charge particle in oblique magnetic field

When velocity of charge particle is neither parallel nor perpendicular to magnetic field, it follows a helical path (in uniform magnetic field).

But can someone explain the magnetic bottle concept?
How the particle is reflected back and does it occur in non uniform magnetic field?
