Motion of a moving charged particle along a flat plate magnet

Physics Asked by Amir Tanvir on March 16, 2021

Lets say I have a flat plate magnetic field with B lines going downward like rainfall. A charged particle enters horizontally, parallel to the flat plate at a velocity. In real life the charged particle should attach to the magnet but using the right hand rule, it will accelerate into the page.

Can I just assume that the particle will stick to the magnet?
