Do we have energy-positive fusion reactors?

Physics Asked by Mat NX on February 17, 2021

This is something I have been wondering about for a long time. I know modern fusion reactors are far from being commercially viable, and probably just as far from going net positive. Still, has there ever been a case, maybe an experiment or a small-scale device, that had net positive fusion? I’m asking because I’m wondering wether or not it would even be possible to achieve on earth, as you do need a ton of energy to make it happen.
