Atmospheric orbital velocity profile

Physics Asked by Dennis Fr on January 1, 2021

In a general scheme of a planet rotating with angular speed $omega_p$, ignoring the formation of convection cells, and asuming that surface layer rotates at $omega_p$ as well,

  1. Is there a difference in velocity between atmospheric layers due to
    the rotation of the planet?
  2. Are top layers more affected by drag, therefore rotating at speed $omega < omega_p$, or do all layers rotate at the same speed?
  3. Is there a compensation with the lower pressures in top layers,
    increasing their velocity?

All this questions are really the same, if you want answer only the general question.
If there is something like an orbital velocity profile for
atmospheric layers, please provide a link to any source.
