Investing in Index Fund as a foreigner

I want to invest in index funds like Vanguard / Fidelity. I’m from Indonesia and from what I’ve checked Indonesia is not one of the eligible country. It is possible to buy the ETF directly from etoro/interactive broker / other brokers , what is the difference between investing through them directly and just buying the etf? Will I also get any kind of dividend? sorry for the beginner question, really appreciate any answer, thanks!
