Ticking sound after overheated

Hey I was driving my 1998 Toyota 4 runner sr5 v6 3.4 back home when my radiator went out and so I pulled over to the side of the road then put water in it after letting it all cool down and drove home wasn’t but 2 minutes away but when it started it has had a ticking sound that’s coming from the driver side of the engine and I’ve done research and nothings really helped anyone know what it could be or what I could do to diagnose it myself?
