Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Asked by Abram Liddell on August 28, 2021
So, I spun out in the rain at a roundabout the other day.
I aquaplaned and lost traction, and had absolutely no control through a 180 spin in which I ended up landing on an island between the 4 lanes of traffic. Luckily I didn’t hit anyone or anything, but upon driving off, I noticed third gear was easier to shift into and felt "looser". It would have been the gear I was in on the roundabout, and so I’m wondering whether I could have damaged it.
I’m taking it easy on the gear so far, and haven’t put much pressure on it after the incident, but there seems to be no reduction in performance, no grinding, clunkiness, etc. It’s just easier to shift into and out of it.
If it helps, my vehicle is a Holden Colorado LXR 2011 model. (diesel)
Anyone know why this could be happening?
