CANbus port won't respond to OBD 0x7DF requests on 2009 Honda Pilot, how come?

Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Asked by user1949743 on September 24, 2020

  • CANbus reader: Kvaser leaf light V2
    Kvaser leaf HS
  • Vehicle: 2009 Honda Pilot
  • Software: Kvaser CanKing installed on Windows 10

Issue:
While the engine is running, CanKing could catch all CANbus traffic, but the port doesn’t respond to OBD 0x7DF requests, such as 0x0C(rpm), 0x0D(Speed) and 0x11(Throttle)

The same method tested on 2016 Subaru Impreza/2012 Jeep Wrangler, and worked.

e.g. sending 0x02 0x01 0x0C to 0x7DF, got 0x04 0x41 0x0C 0x0E 0xD8 on 0x7E8
     sending 0x02 0x01 0x0D to 0x7DF, got 0x03 0x41 0x0D 0x00 on 0x7E8
     sending 0x02 0x01 0x11 to 0x7DF, got 0x03 0x41 0x11 0x20 on 0x7E8

Wonder what could be missing?
any hints would be appreciated
