Getting message Solve::itdim

When I use Indexed and solve an equation, I get the error message:

Solve::itdim The dimensionality of variable p is not well specified

My code is:

pim[i_, period_] := Indexed[p, {i, "m"}] /; period === m

What’s the problem? How can I resolve it?
