I’m preparing to install COREtec LVP over a 3/4 tongue-and-groove plywood sub-floor in my 1985 2nd floor condo, and there are several areas where I need to level the floor.
The installation instructions recommend Portland cement-based self-leveler and so I have been looking at the Henry product line. I’ve had the Liquid Backer Board recommended (Henry 542), since it doesn’t require a metal lath for reinforcement but I’m having a hard time figuring out whether it’s acceptable for an LVP underlayment.
The product description etc mentions ceramic, stone, wood and also laminate and engineered wood but I don’t see anything about vinyl so I suspect it’s not recommended. (I also remember reading somewhere that it was inappropriate for "resilient" flooring which I believe includes LVP).
Any insights are appreciated.
