Can I connect combined red and black wires from power source to ceiling fan blue wire, is it safe

Power source has black wire white wire and red and black wire paired together as well as ground. Ceiling fan has black white blue and ground. Instructions say connect blue fan wire to red wire from power source. Power source already has black and red paired… Is it safe to pair the combined red and black wire from power source to the blue ceiling fan wire?
