For the last several weeks, I have been increasingly seeing this GET 500 error in the Chrome developer console of a published GEE app:
GET https://earthengine.googleapis.com/v1alpha/projects/earthengine-legacy/maps/[bigstring]/tiles/[2-dig-num]/[3-dig-num]/[3-dig-num] 500
Very often followed by:
Tile error: Earth Engine capacity exceeded.
The underlying operation often being performed when the error occurs is .mosaic()
Here is a screenshot:
Then, finally, an error often appears near the top of the map: "There was an error loading some parts of the map"
Followed by a fatal error in the middle of the map from which the only option is to close or refresh the browser: "Something went wrong while displaying this app. Please come back later." Screenshot:
Of course I’d like to know what is causing the error to begin with. But in the meantime, is there a way to trap / catch the error? (I have tried putting try…catch blocks around the section of code, but the catch doesn’t get triggered)
Anybody else having problems like this lately with GEE?
