Publishing JPEG2000 layer in GeoServer programmatically (API REST)

I am trying to publish a JPEG2000 layer as a web map service at GeoServer, firstly, I downloaded and configure the GDAL plugin and all are working fine, so, I can publish manually any JPEG2000 in GeoServer, and after, I want to publish a set of jpeg2000 layers programmatically using the curl command for the API REST of GeoServer using this code:

curl -v -u admin:geoserver -XPUT -H "Content-type: image/JP2" --data-binary "file://C:/Users/pc/Desktop/Images/Jpeg2000/image2.JP2" http://localhost:8080/geoserver/rest/workspaces/cite/coveragestores/image_test/external.JP2

The command does not work with a JPEG2000 file knowing that it works very well for GeoTIFF images. What is the best solution for it to work well?
