Publishing a layer with vector field in ArcGIS Server results in white map

I have a raster layer, rendered with the vector field method in the symbology tab showing the direction and magnitude of the flow of water after events of heavy rain. This works fine in ArcMap 10.6.1. I want to implement this in my WebGIS

However, when I publish my MapDocument in ArcGIS-Server as AGS and WMS the layer is not drawn. I get a blank map when adding the service to a new ArcMap-Document. Same goes for viewing the service in ArcGIS Online Map Viewer from the ArcGIS Server Manager.
ArcGIS-Server-protocols gives me severe warnings, "Failed to rename cache folder" and "Method failed.HRESULT = 0x80070057 : The parameter is incorrect. "

Publishing the same datasource(s) without rendering them as vector field, results in the same Error messages in ArcGIS server Manager. Still the layer is drawn, so I guess, these messages are not the real problem.

Is it even possible/intended to publish a layer with vector field as AGS/WMS?
