Polygon divider plugin for QGIS gives me "failed float divmod()" error

I’m trying to split a polygon shape file from an open data city .shp file. And Polygon Divider keeps giving me this error.

Even when I start a new project, and create a new layer to create a square polygon. When I try and then divide this square polygon it gives me the Failed Float divmod() error.

Any help or suggestions on why this is happening?
