MBTiles on Leaflet map

I’m trying to use Leaflet.TileLayer.MBTiles with npm. It installs fine but when I do:

import { Leaflet.TileLayer.MBTiles }

I get the following error:

ERROR in ./src/js/index.js 7:16
Module parse failed: Unexpected token (7:16)

I trying to use this with ES6 setup and structure. Lastly, do I implement this server side or client side – I’m using express as the backend. I cannot find any online documentation on how to implement this – does anyone know of any online tutorials of how to do this?
