Looping using Iterate Features in ModelBuilder of ArcGIS Pro

Geographic Information Systems Asked on April 6, 2021

I have a model that iterates through a dataset (iterate features), each feature has a defined set of steps that gets processed against another features.

ie – take each feature from the dataset, run a euclidian distance, clip out the euclidian distance based on another dataset and so on.

The model contains many "branches" that does the same process with the exception that the clipping feature is different for each of the processes.

The model runs fine "if the clipping" datasets exists. If the dataset doesn’t exist, the model will fail – so I put a "if data exists" in there and set the true portion to be a precondition of the first step. Again the model works fine, but…if the clipping feature doesn’t exist, the model will still run fine but I get warnings at the end of the process.

"The process did not execute because the precondition is false." and then "All the inputs are not current"

Again, the model runs fine for clipping features that are present but I get the warnings. I’m assuming because the if dataset exists returns false, but false does nothing except continue on with model.

I’d like to be able to get rid of the warning message that appears after the model completes. If I run the model, that’s fine because I know what the warnings are, but if someone else runs the model, they won’t know what the warnings are for.

Any way of handling that?
