I am writing a Python script using sentinelsat that will download Sentinel-2 Level-1C imagery based on a specified tileID and date range. I have it look for duplicate values within beginposition and have it keep only one. In other words, I want the script to download only one image per tileID/date combo.
The problem that I encounter is that for one of the dates, there were two different products for the same Sentinel-2 Level-1C product. The only difference between the filenames of the two different products is the Product Discriminator field. Could anyone provide greater insight into this 15 character field so that I can automate my script? In this instance, the Product Discriminator with a later time stamp has a smaller footprint. The only workaround that I can think of is to select the one with the larger size.
I am aware of the new naming convention documentation within the User Guide: https://sentinel.esa.int/web/sentinel/user-guides/sentinel-2-msi/naming-convention
The two products are:
https://scihub.copernicus.eu/apihub/odata/v1/Products(‘0e15e08c-75db-4162-9315-5c50bced1f37’)/Products(‘Quicklook’)/$value
https://scihub.copernicus.eu/apihub/odata/v1/Products(‘b290f68a-03f3-4dd0-af8b-d143a23ac148’)/Products(‘Quicklook’)/$value
Their filenames, respectively are:
