GeoServer Basic Auth Login Failures (but everything works)

I’ve set up GeoServer to use basic auth (oauth/oidc is a can of worms I dont like opening). I am testing it using QGIS. Everything seems to work fine in QGIS however I am getting a phenomenal spam of login failures in the GeoServer console.

26 Oct 18:01:10 WARN [geoserver.security] – Failed login, user MyUser from LANIP, forwarded for REMOTEIP, stopped 30concurrent logins during authentication delay

I am using GeoServer behind a simple nginx reverse proxy hence the LAN/Remote IP.

While it does work,I wanted to ask anyway if anyone had any idea.
