Can I access cross-correlation output data from a GNSS chipset?

Geographic Information Systems Asked on June 25, 2021

Is it possible to access the output of the cross-correlation between the received GNSS signal and the local PRN code replica as part of the ‘Raw GNSS Measurements’ offered by some GNSS chipsets?

Specifically, I would like to purchase a consumer-grade (think the Broadcom BCM47755, or some smartwatch or drone GNSS module) GNSS chipset that’s capable of providing the raw correlation output data on a per-channel basis either via the consumer device itself, or by purchasing a development board containing said chip.

If this isn’t possible, would a software defined receiver be the best way of obtaining this information?
