When and when not to use the definite article?

English Language & Usage Asked by jethroburns on May 11, 2021

Help please. I am translating a text about a comedian. The foreign text says "Comedian Bill Blogs will be appearing at…". I tend to write "The" comedian Bill Blogs in this situation. Are both correct (with or without a definite article) or is there something more subtle implied in both cases?
