Use of the adverb ''also''

English Language & Usage Asked by Bob1986 on November 27, 2020

I’m writing an acknowledgement in my dissertation and wish to thank person X for the following 2 things:

  1. suggesting the research problem
  2. advice throughout the project

I’m confused whether the conjunction ”also” in the following sentence is correct:

Thank you X not only for suggesting such a stimulating problem for the investigation, but also for your pragmatic advice and enthusiasm as we endured the many rounds of problem formulation.

Should it be omitted?
