Time in past simple and simple present grammar in these sentences

English Language & Usage Asked by João Paulo Andrade on December 27, 2020

I have some issues to understand these two sentences, why the first is wrong and why the second the verb didn’t change.

In the sentence "Kim goes on a date with David the last night but didn’t call him afterwards."
Why "the last night" is wrong at the sentence?

In this following sentence "Agatha hates when her little brothers leave toys in the living room",
Why is "leave" and not "leaves"?
