English Language & Usage Asked on January 7, 2021
I am trying to write a recruitment contract and I just found out that the word admissions in "Admissions Counselor" was used
is plural form instead of singular as an atrributive noun, which was not what I expected. I guess it could be argued that one admissions counselor will assist in multiple admissions, but the same could be said about mink, which arguably breed more than one mink。 So regarding the use of attributive noun, when is the plural form used instead of singular form, or should I assume "admissions counselor" is a very unusual exception.
