Spend V-ing, spend in V-ing

English Language & Usage Asked by 123c on May 22, 2021

Are there any differences between the two sentences?

  1. I spend a day in reading books
  2. I spend a day reading books.

I think “spend -ing” is the shorten form “spend in -ing.
But is there really a difference in nuances?
Do they really mean exactly the same thing?
