Should the phrase be "usually do not live to regret it" or "usually live to regret it"?

English Language & Usage Asked on April 8, 2021

The US is always slow to respond to a crisis (in this case slower than usual because of Trump) but once it gets its act together, can act swiftly and decisively. And that’s also why those who underestimate the US usually do not live to regret it.

I saw this comment on a Facebook post and it was upvoted a lot but I just thought there is an error with the last sentence. Shouldn’t the phrase in the last sentence be "do live to regret it" rather than "do not live to regret it"?

Is this consider logic error? or syntax error?
