English Language & Usage Asked by user0939 on May 29, 2021
I see the phrase "open up" commonly used, particularly when referencing the economy in relation to the COVID-19.
There has been a battle between opening things up and returning to normal with being mindful of the number of cases and the serious effects of the virus.[1] [Emphasis added]
Is this usage grammatically correct?
If not, why not and what would be an example of correct phrasing?
