Is the phrase "alone work" grammatically correct?

English Language & Usage Asked by Sebiti on February 1, 2021

Could it be used instead of: "working alone" in a sentence? For example: "Alone work has made me independent" instead of "Working alone has made me independent".

I am trying to understand if it is grammatically correct and if yes, does the phrase makes any sense at all?

The question came up when I was writing a CV and from the fact that we can use nouns as adjectives in phrases. like: "police office", "ladies room", "lemon tea". I am not sure if the same applies to adjectives though, i.e. phrase with adjective-noun combination instead of noun-noun combination.

One Answer

Hmm, I'd use "solitary work" or "solo work" instead.
