Is it grammatical with the omission of the clause?

I’ve heard many clauses like ‘I don’t know why’, ‘I know why’ in lyrics in songs. In an indirect question clause, can I use a interrogative word without the following clause? E.g. ‘I know how’, ‘I know where and when’.
