English Language & Usage Asked by Jongira on June 13, 2021
I believe that the word "ick," and by extension "icky," is related to the word "ichor," or to a mispronounciation of "ichor" (the pronunciation of "ichor" is disputed).
Ichor is certainly icky.
: a thin watery or blood-tinged discharge
I found nothing on the web that etymologically links the two. Thoughts?
