English Language & Usage Asked by Vishwa Ratna on June 6, 2021
I am writing a book and the audience could easily get confused and assume the meaning differently.
Below is my effort to explain what is GraphQL to the audience:
GraphQL is a language-independent specification for client-server
communication. It also serves as a runtime for fulfilling queries with
your data (that is what QL means i.e., Query language). GraphQL is
often referred to as a declarative query language — declarative
meaning that it lets the developer specify what needs to be fetched.
I asked my peers to read and tell me what they infer from it and each of them picked a different meaning as per different lines. can anyone suggest to me what should I do and transform the above para to so that they are more connected and makes sense?
Answers given by my friends after reading the above para.
Me: What is GraphQL
Friend 1: It is a specification.
Friend 2: It is a query language.
Friend 3: It is just a declarative way of fetching data.
