Do we always use a plural verb with "looks"?

English Language & Usage Asked on December 26, 2020

"Her looks are what she is mostly proud of"

OR

"Her looks is what she is mostly proud of"?

And if a plural verb is used, how would we say the following sentence:

"He looks so manly and rugged. I’ll bet that kind of looks is every girl’s dream"

Or should we say "those kinds of looks….(sounds so odd to me though)"?
